Maggie (Lampeter)

Seeking a book club

I have recently moved to Wales and hope to meet people who share a love of reading and discussion. I belonged to a group in Oxfordshire and found it really encouraged me in my reading. We read a wide range of fiction both modern and literary.

Seeking a book club

I read and listen to (via Audible) a range of fiction and non-fiction books including poetry. Everything from Shakespeare and the metaphysical poets to Stephen King. Factual books include historical, biographical and philosophical works. I write a little - usually poetry, paint and draw, sew, enjoy films and gardening. I live near Lampeter. I would be interested in joining a club to discuss novels, poetry and plays: classical or contemporary, with other people local to the area. I would prefer a day time group as I don't like to drive in the dark.

Seeking a book club

Hello. I moved here three years ago but had to concentrate on life in England until very recently. I would love to meet people and chat about books. In addition to reading I enjoy a broad variety of music, love seeing musicians live, I have many hobbies interests, enjoy creativity, walking, have two lovely whippets,( their mother recently died so in my heart I still have three lovely whippets), I love going to the cinema and theatre. I have tended to read factual books for work or study but had to branch out into fiction when I did a few writing courses. Oh and I enjoy writing prose and poetry when inspired. I enjoy cooking, eating always thought I'd grow out of eating chocolate peanuts but never have. ps would love to start a book club meeting at my house preferably once a month.

Zoe (Lampeter)

Seeking a book club

I live in a village with Cardigan being my closest town. I have been in book clubs previously and like being challenged to read books that I would not necessarily have thought of. I like a wide range of fiction including the classics, more modern literature with a particular interest in historical fiction and Russian literature. Looking to interact with others who like to read.

Anil’s ghost
by Michael Ondaatje | Learn more and buy
About the troubled times in Ceylon in the 1980’s. Anil is an archaeologist who finds bones. Some of these are ancient , but they find modern bodies that have been killed somewhere else and been moved and put with the ancient mummies to hide what was happening in the country.

Seeking a book club

I wouldn't describe my self as an avid reader but I enjoy books and read a little regularly. I haven't been a member of a book club before, but I'd welcome a forum for friendly, relaxed discussion of books, perhaps over a glass or two of wine. Realistically, I could get through one book a month. Previously, I've tended to read classics from any period, but am happy to read whatever comes my way. Currently, I'm reading A Short History of Private Life by Bill Bryson which is very entertaining.
